Buca Performing Art Center

To recall the memory of the project site,a recration area descending to a lower level was designed.The former entrance of the prison,the entrances of the recreation area and the marketplace, and the naturally formed pedestrian axiswere all considered. These axes were unified by a structure that sometimes transformed into an upper covering and at other times made contact with the ground, revealing itself through the material. This structure facilitated pedestrian flow to the performing arts center. Through social functions that support the courtyard formed by the internal positioning of the building units, users are encouraged to come to the center and spend time there even outside of performance times.
