Vivificato - Vivant Architecture Group Project

The restoration and adaptive reuse of the Abbey of Santa Maria del Piano followed principles of minimal intervention and sustainability, preserving its historic fabric while introducing contemporary functions. A precise structural framework using locally sourced oak ensured stability without damaging original materials. Transparent glass partitions define spaces while keeping the stone walls visible. A symbolic tree in the apse, surrounded by a spiral staircase, enhances the meditative atmosphere and represents growth and spiritual ascent.
